Our Story

Leadership Inclusive has its roots in a simple idea that took shape back in September 2011: bring together professionals from a few of Nashville’s top companies who were committed to creating more inclusive and equitable workplaces. It started informally—just a handful of passionate folks gathering to share ideas, build relationships, and support one another—but it didn’t stay small for long. Word spread quickly, and the group began to grow, showing just how strong the need was for this kind of connection.

By April 2012, the group formalized its efforts and became the Tennessee Diversity Consortium (TDC), providing a structured space for collaboration, shared learning, and leadership development. For over a decade, the TDC served as a trusted network for professionals across the region.

Now, in 2025, the TDC is entering a new chapter as Leadership Inclusive. After incorporating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2024, the organization is stepping into this next phase with fresh energy and a broader vision. While the name is new, the heart of the work remains the same—bringing people together to strengthen their leadership, learn from one another, and drive meaningful change in their organizations and communities. Leadership Inclusive continues to be a hub for professionals committed to building inclusive and equitable workplaces across the region and beyond.
