In September 2011, diversity leaders from four Nashville businesses united to build relationships, exchange ideas, and support one another. What started as a small gathering quickly grew as word spread, drawing in more professionals. Within six months, the invitation list expanded exponentially, highlighting the need for collaboration.

By April 2012, the group formalized as the Tennessee Diversity Consortium (TDC) to create a positive community impact. Staying true to its mission, the TDC broadened its reach and remains a hub for diversity professionals to connect, share best practices, and strengthen leadership. Today, it continues advancing equity and inclusion across organizations and communities.
